Performance Indicators for 2008

1. Professional Engagement

All teaching staff at Trinity College are 4 year trained, and 100% of staff from 2007 were retained in 2008. Staff attendance was 98%. Staff participated in a variety of professional development activities, ranging from subject specific workshops to behavioural management, ICT skills, management and leadership. Average expenditure per staff member was $261, but staff contributed to many in-service activities out of their own pockets.

2. Key Student Outcomes

Attendance averaged 95% over the school year, and, after exceptions, 90% of students achieved literacy and numeracy benchmarks. This was unchanged from 2007. All year 12 students progressed to further education in the TAFE area. Owing to the small cohort and privacy issues, it's not appropriate to report median results in the TCE. 80% of year 9 & 10 students were retained, and the other 20% were enrolled in other senior secondary colleges. Value adding is hard to quantify for a new and small school such as ours, within a changing student body. What is significant is the reports from other educational service providers about the maturity and level of leadership exhibited by our students. We have observed these attributes developing, but it is pleasing to have them reported on by other professionals.

3. Satisfaction

Students, teachers and parents expressed a high level of satisfaction within the school - anecdotally in the latter category and via survey in the first two categories. Some dissatisfaction with the timeliness of communication from the school was expressed, as was some unhappiness with the small number of students of the same age, which sometimes narrowed the possibilities for social interaction with the same aged children.
